  i've been studying with the jw's for about a year now.

  i know that by nature (or nurture!

  ) i have an addictive personality so i have tried to be real careful that i'm doing the right thing by getting involved with them.

  OOOH Boy, so much to say. I'll keep it short.

  They probably have not told you everything. Look at the founder of this "Religion", look at the changes that have been made, look at the old material that they don't want you to see. Anything and everything in the Bible can be perceived at least two ways. Alot of what they teach is not scriptual. Add this to a doctrine such as their blood doctrine(which is changing as we speak)and you get nothing but a CULT.

  Ask if its true that Russell used pyramids to come up with dates, ask if the Judge said that millions living in the 1920's would never die. Ask what will be different once you are "baptized".

  Ask them to show you proof that Jesus returned in 1914. Ask them to show you that Jehovah picked them to be the "slave".

  Ask them if you can be "saved", using all of their beleifs, but not be part of the organization.

  Better yet, find the answers to all of those questions here. I also recommend http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com/ .

  The JW's are VERY believable. I ask this, Have you ever been a member of a religion? What got you involved with these people?

  Yep, you heard it here folks. All you have to do when armag. starts is say "JEHOVAH" three times and click your heels together and you will be saved. What a relief!

  there is constant talk about sex here, false prophecy, preaching work etc.. but noone talks much about the demons.

  i know i was frightened of them.my entire youth, every night, was spent engaging in paranoid little rituals to protect me from the demons.. watchtowers under the pillow, lights on, bible open by the bed.. and me wide awake listening to every tree branch creak, every board crack as the house setlled for the night.. i still have problems (occassionaly) even now.. who was terrified of the demons??

  I take it lightly these days. I still beleive in Demons. Maybe I am just used to seeing these things on the net. I laugh at it now. My brother has a "theme" going on his site. If you didn't notice it is a clan for a game, thats it, nothing else.

  Human Sacrifice

  in my religious and cultural heritage, human sacrifice has always been abhored.

  yet, that is what the christ was; a human sacrifice.. the jewish writings condemned human sacrifice, but the christians reveled in the notion that a man died in their place.. human sacrifice is the foundation of the christian faith.

  I give the Dubs credit where credit is do. Their "Blood doctrine" sacrifices are/were not nearly as bad as the Catholics. Think of all the dead, who fought for God in the UK. The Dubs only have allowed a fraction of sacrifices of what the Catholics did.

  Well, I believe in God and therefore I believe in Demons and Satan.

  It may have been my youthful imagination, but I would say that I have been visited by Demons.

  First, let me say, that usually anything that is not fully understood, or not concidered to be Godly, would be concidered evil. I believe evil has different levels. Yadirf is one. haha

  What is a Demon? I think this could be a variety of things. Bad dreams, ghosts, voices, sounds, lights, spirits or just something very odd happening. It depends on the person and the Demon.

  A few things that I saw as a kid and teenager:

  When I was eight or nine (BTW, these are all true, to the best of my memory)my stepdad(x now) and his best friend were standing out side the house. It was getting dark. The friends name was Denny and was a religious man(not a JW, I said religious). My stepdad, I believe had many demons in him. Long story short, my mother screamed for me to get in the house, I looked back outside and there was a fireball looming above Dennys van. Never touched the van. This lasted for about 30 seconds.

  A year later. We had a bad storm come in. Tornadoes, lightning, thunder, rain and wind. Middle of the day lightning struck the dining room window, did not break it, and a ball of whatever actually skid across the tile in the kitchen and melted it. There was a 4-7 foot melted path left behind. I was in the basement when this happened but did see the floor all scarred up.

  When I was 16-17 years old. I was into some bad stuff at that age. Had a terrible dream one night and woke up the next day with claw marks on my chest. Like 3 fingernails ripped my skin. Around the same time, woke up and my radio was playing music backwards. Within a year of that woke up to ultimate terror. I could not make out a figure, but felt a strange feeling that something was hovering over me. I remember being so scared that I couldn't even scream. There was like a mist or a cloud in my room. NOTE: My older brother at this time was into some REALLY SCARY STUFF, like hanging crosses up-side down in his room , pentagrams in his room and several pics of Demons and hard rock bands on his walls. Coinsidence? He is still involved. Here is a pic of him on his site.

  in another thread, entitled the ransom paid, its author raised a most important question -- a question that surely every person ought to be determined to know the answer to.

  im posting this also as a reply in that thread, but i feel that its such an important issue that the answer (as i see it) be given the widest publicity possible here on this forum.

  Another one of Fridays topics to just piss us off and to get himself to reply a dozen times or so, so that he can catch up to Amazing.

  There are no 144,000 that are going to be "JESUS" like. Revelations talks about 12 tribes of the children of Israel. Which tribe are you in, Friday? Can someone give me the short answer of where in the Bible it says that 144000(JW's)will be Jesus-like in heaven? You may have read this in a WT article but certainly not from the Bible.
